Its the man the myth

DeVaughn Put In Work Burke

And Today we are talking about 5 Ways To Get Into The Trucking Business.

Fleet Owner

Owning Multiple Trucks that are under your authority. You can rent these trucks out to other business owners. You can literally just hire drivers for weekly pay. This is one the mostly costly ways to get into the trucking business but it can be profitable if done right.

Mobile Truck Washing

Most fleet owners want their trucks to be clean and look presentable when out on the road. So here comes you the mobile truck washing business owner to save the day. Trucking companies don’t have the time or man power to bring their trucks to the car wash. You can literally a heavy duty power washer and offer your service to trucking companies in your area.

Truck Stop Parking

This will take you finding a good spot of land and just renting out to drivers that need a place to rest for a couple hours before getting back on the road. Maybe even for a overnight drop off spot for empty trailers. To make this profitable you probably would want atleast a ½ a acre of land.

You can charge them as low as $8 a night to park or upwards of $20 a night to park. You don’t even need an attendant if you set the parking lot up with a ticket system.

Dispatcher

Truck dispatchers coordinate and manage the schedules of truck drivers to ensure products and goods are picked up and delivered in a timely manner. They receive calls for truck services and contact their fleet of truck drivers to arrange the pickups and deliveries.

So you can start your own dispatching service but my suggestion is to actually get a job in the field being a dispatcher for a trucking company for at least 3 – 6 months before starting your own service.

You can use this experience to learn the ins and outs of what a dispatcher actually does. This is a super easy way to take the risk out of trying to learn on your own without any income coming in.

Freight Broker

A Freight Broker serves as a liaison between shippers and carriers to secure transportation of goods. Freight brokers do marketing to attract new customers, pair customers with freight carriers, book orders and line carriers up for loading. Also known as Freight Delivery Broker

Just like becoming a dispatcher you should become a freight broker for a larger company to learn how to actually do the job of a freight broker before starting your own service. Learning from experience is way better than learning how to do something through theory only.

You actually take all 5 of these ways to get into the trucking business and start a full blown service company for trucking and truckers, This could actually be a really big business if you do it right.
