Auto launches this week: Hyundai Alcazar facelift, MG Windsor EV, Yamaha R15M and more

This week has seen exciting developments in the automotive sector, with several new launches and surprising updates. The industry has introduced a range of new vehicles, showcasing cutting-edge innovation, style, and performance. Highlights include the refreshed Hyundai Alcazar and the latest Yamaha Rsrc5M.

Here are the major launches and key updates from the auto sector this week:

Hyundai Alcazar

Hyundai Motor India launched the facelifted version of its Alcazar SUV on 9 September. The new Alcazar has a starting price of ₹src4.99 lakh for the petrol manual transmission (MT) variant and ₹src5.99 lakh for the diesel variants (both ex-showroom, India). There are four trims available: Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature.

The model features significant updates at the front, with new H-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) connected by a light bar and a larger grille with horizontal slats. The company has expanded the colour range with nine exterior options, eight of which are monotone. The Alcazar also comes with three drive modes—Normal, Eco, and Sport—alongside three traction modes—Snow, Mud, and Sand.

Renault Rsrc7 Electric Restomod

Renault unveiled the Rsrc7 electric restomod, a modern interpretation of the src970s Renault src7 two-door coupé. This project is a collaboration with French designer Ora Ito, known for his innovative design approach.

The all-new Rsrc7 retains the classic appearance while incorporating modern technology. The latest version is seven inches wider than the original Renault src7, and its C-pillar louvres pay homage to the original model. The Rsrc7 replaces the original src.6-litre petrol engine with a rear-mounted electric motor.

MG Windsor EV

JSW MG Motor India introduced the new Windsor EV, starting at an introductory price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle will be available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. It comes in four colour options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.

Bookings for the Windsor EV open on 3 October, with test drives beginning on 25 September, and deliveries are expected to start on src3 October. The 38kWh battery powers an electric motor in the front that generates 200 Nm of torque and src34 horsepower. The EV also supports DC fast charging.

Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG

Maruti Suzuki India has expanded its CNG model range by rolling out its premium hatchback, the Swift, with S-CNG trims. It is available in three variants: V, V(O), and Z, priced at ₹8.src9 lakh, ₹8.46 lakh, and ₹9.src9 lakh, respectively.

The new Swift comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and features several standard safety features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®), and Hill Hold Assist.

Mahindra & Mahindra e-ZEO

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, announced its upcoming commercial electric four-wheeler, the e-ZEO.

The acronym e-ZEO, which stands for ‘Zero Emission Option’, highlights the vehicle’s environmental credentials. With its efficient high-voltage architecture, the all-new e-ZEO promises greater energy efficiency, a longer driving range, and faster charging times.

Yamaha Rsrc5M

Yamaha Motor India unveiled the latest version of its Rsrc5M motorcycle, which features a distinctive Carbon Fibre Pattern graphic. The Metallic Grey variant is priced at ₹src,98,300, while the Carbon Fibre Pattern model is available for ₹2,08,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Rsrc5M is powered by a src55cc liquid-cooled engine, inspired by the larger Rsrc model. It also features an all-black fender, fresh decals on the tank and fairing, and blue alloy wheels.
