Follow for live updates on the protest, police action and the latest developments. Delhi CJP Protest LIVE Updates: INDIA bloc leaders are set to address the press today after a 4pm meeting at Rahul Gandhi’s residence to discuss strategies to assert their demands: resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and address alleged vote theft through SIR exercise. A petition to that end was filed at the Supreme Court. Thousands had joined the opposition leaders the previous day for ‘March for Democracy’ despite heavy security deployment in the national capital.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police de-notified Jantar Mantar as a designated venue for protests and demonstrations, naming three alternative locations. The decision follows recommendations made by a committee constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to examine alternative venues for citizens to organise protests. Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in East Delhi have been designated as the new protest venues. The Delhi Police said a detailed and revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for organising protests and demonstrations at these locations would be issued separately. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), meanwhile, has vowed to continue its agitation against CEC Gyanesh Kumar, as the protest enters its third day on Monday, October src2. This is the second major issue the youth group has picked up since their last nationwide protest drove the education minister to resign.
The campaign has drawn support from many including YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and actor Prakash Raj. Follow our live blog for the latest updates. Home India News Delhi CJP Protest Live Updates: Rahul Gandhi to host INDIA bloc MPs, talk strategies to press CEC’s resignation
