New OBEX cavity tray makes installation easier for contractors

With tightening building safety requirements and growing programme demands, the system is designed to remove uncertainty from cavity tray installation while maintaining high standards of fire and moisture performance.

The new product is a next generation addition to the wide range of construction products offered by OBEX. RapidTray simplifies on-site installation through a combination of pre-formed components, integrated fixings and a flexible membrane, reducing complexity and helping ensure consistency across the build.

It achieves a Class A2-ssrc,d0 fire classification, offering performance which is supported by a comprehensive programme of independent testing and verification. Fire classification has been tested in accordance with BS EN src350src-src:20src8, with testing carried out under conditions representative of real-world applications, including ventilated cavity scenarios.

The system has also undergone BBA water-flow testing and has a Kiwa agrément, demonstrating its effectiveness in managing moisture and protecting the building fabric over the long term.

David MacDonald, Global Chief Revenue Officer at OBEX, said: “Across the industry, there is increasing pressure to deliver compliant buildings without impacting programme or cost.

“RapidTray was developed to simplify installation at the point it matters most, reducing complexity on site while maintaining the levels of fire and moisture performance that specifiers expect. It’s about giving teams greater certainty that systems are installed correctly, first time.”

Suitable for residential and commercial brickwork façade applications, RapidTray is designed to support faster construction programmes while maintaining compliance with current building standards.
